Florida Textures

My wife and I visited Florida this past weekend to visit the in-laws and it RAINED for the entire duration of our stay — a rare event, I am told. Undeterred, the family embarked to a few ‘scenic’ locations in Homosassa Florida. We had a blast having created some magical, memorable moments.

I had a setup in mind for the trip to Florida. The plan was to travel light while capturing fabulous video for all to see. The rain made me replan and I had to bring my more expensive weather-resistant gear…which worked flawlessly I might add. Fujifilm keeps surprising me with each and every outing — autofocus sucks compared to Sony, but man for the price alone, you can really get some amazing optical capabilities.

Thinggies for people to go out in the water with? You can tell I am landlocked. 🤪
Pelicans like to hitch a ride on boats to the shore…super lazy, I’d say…
The Osprey did NOT catch its food. I was thrilled to see one remembering back to my trip to Sarasota last year.
Ibis! Or as Floridians say…garbage eaters.
More ducks
My wife spotted this Little Blue Heron! I am such a proud bird papa.

Floridians LOVE nature around my father-in-law’s place. Pretty much everything you can imagine blooms year round. I decided to walk around the neighborhood and instead of being a creeper, photographed much of the native fauna in the area.
