I had two cameras while on the road in the Northeastern United States – an OM System (formally called Olympis) and my Fujifilm X camera. You never can be prepared for what the weather will do with camera in hand, but the most important item to note when taking memorable travel photography is to have your settings preconfigured before taking to the road.
I will have one setting for action where my PAM dial is typically set to S for Shutter. Another mode is reserved for scenic shots when I’m able to stop to stand. For you Fujifilm users, I have various Fujifilm Simulations reserved for nature and dramatic lighting. I try not to be discouraged with any of my captures on the road as I always find that capturing the variable scenarios will help me understand my camera even more!
