January is the time for weather surprises here in Texas and 2026 did not disappoint! The second to last Saturday of January brought about an inch of ice here in my quiet hometown of Haslet Texas with more genuine snow on the horizon. Bad weather close to my house is a great time for me to test out my camera equipment knowing that I have several big trips scheduled this year. I’ll need a reliable lens hood, it seems, for my some Fujifilm Rangefinder. And why hasn’t anyone come up with defrosters for glasses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I was in a black and white kind of mood today wanting to just focus on contrast and composition rather than think too hard about introducing color into the frame. I did have my Sony for birding strapped to my shoulder, but as I had suspected, my small Rangefinder was all I needed.<\/p>\n\n\n
